We are all familiar with Miss Piggy, Kermit the Frog, Cookie Monster, Sailor Moon, and Baby Yoda. Why are these characters so memorable? Furthermore, why are we, adults and children alike, love shadow shows? In learning design, the practices and principles of Design Thinking has taken roots and with it is the concept of Personas. Personas is a method in defining a learner profile with the intent of understanding the needs, goals and other behaviors that represent the learner. Designers use imagery, puppetry and cartoons to prepare personas.
The session focuses on using Personas, puppetry and cartoons as a way to help participants view the desired learning outcomes.
In the session, you will learn:
Why are we in love with puppets and cartoons and the ideas they represent.
What is Design Thinking and how to apply it in webinar design and delivery.
How do Personas, puppetry and learning models work?
How to design puppets and cartoons that mold in Personas.
How to use Personas to engage learners.
What are the simple methods of producing puppets and cartoons?
To add moments of learning and applications, complete the Pre-Webinar Activity “Creating a Persona Exercise.” After the webinar, complete your Insights Exercise. Download and own the “25 Favorite Cartoon Posters” and the article “Puppets, Personas and Design Thinking in Learning Design.”
